Position Overview:

The Supervising Associate will play a critical role in managing client engagements while overseeing and mentoring junior staff. This position is ideal for a talented professional looking to advance their career by providing leadership and high-level technical expertise in audit and tax services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage audit and tax engagements from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and timelines.
  • Review and approve individual and business tax returns, delivering strategic tax planning advice and ensuring compliance.
  • Oversee the work of junior associates, providing training, constructive feedback, and mentorship to support their professional development.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of audit documentation and tax returns prepared by staff to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to client delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the main point of contact for inquiries and ensuring client needs are met effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends, changes in tax laws, and accounting standards to provide informed recommendations to clients and guide team members.
  • Assist in business development efforts, including participating in client pitches, proposals, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on audit and tax services.
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
