As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervising Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

The Supervising Accountant will manage client engagements, oversee the work of junior staff, and ensure the delivery of exceptional accounting services. This role is ideal for a proactive accounting professional who is ready to take on responsibility and contribute significantly to the firm’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage various client engagements, including tax compliance, audits, and financial reporting.
  • Review and approve individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and accuracy in all filings.
  • Lead audits from planning through completion, coordinating with team members to ensure adherence to auditing standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide strategic advice on accounting and tax matters.
  • Mentor and train junior associates, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional growth.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of work completed by staff to verify accuracy and quality before submission to clients.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for inquiries and ensuring their needs are met effectively.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tax regulations, and accounting standards to provide informed recommendations to clients and guidance to team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA preferred, but no required. (must be actively pursuing CPA or EA)
  • 4-6 years of experience in public accounting or a related financial role, with a strong emphasis on tax and audit services.
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
