As the firm continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervising Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

The Supervising Accountant will be responsible for managing client engagements, overseeing the work of junior staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services. This position is ideal for a proactive accounting professional looking to take on increased responsibilities and contribute to the firm’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage various client engagements, including tax compliance, audits, and financial statement preparation.
  • Review and approve individual and business tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Lead audit engagements, coordinating the activities of junior staff and ensuring adherence to auditing standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide strategic advice on accounting and tax issues.
  • Mentor and develop junior accountants, providing training, support, and constructive feedback to promote their professional growth.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and point of contact for inquiries and concerns.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Stay updated on current accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations to provide informed guidance to clients and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA preferred, but no required. (must be actively pursuing CPA or EA)
  • 4-6 years of experience in public accounting or a similar financial role, with a focus on both tax and audit services.
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring staff members, with strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
