As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Controller to join their leadership team.
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the firm, manage the accounting department, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This key leadership role requires a strong background in accounting, excellent management skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support the firm’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Prepare, review, and ensure compliance with GAAP in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the preparation and filing of individual and business tax returns, while providing clients with strategic tax planning and compliance advice.
- Lead the auditing process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure complete and accurate audits with minimal disruption.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to assist management in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary contact for financial inquiries and advising on best practices.
- Mentor, train, and develop accounting staff to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Stay informed about accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends to provide timely and relevant guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting or a financial management role, with a strong emphasis on tax and audit services.
- Proven experience in a leadership or managerial position.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly presenting complex financial information.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
