As the firm continues to grow and expand its services, they are seeking an experienced Controller to join their leadership team.

Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the firm, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with all applicable regulations. This leadership role involves managing the accounting department, developing financial strategies, and providing critical insights to support the firm’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage the firm’s budget and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax returns for the firm and its clients, offering strategic tax planning advice.
  • Lead the audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure compliance and address any findings or recommendations.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor cash flow, investments, and funding for projects, ensuring the firm’s financial stability.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support strategic planning and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends, accounting regulations, and tax laws, providing guidance to the firm and its clients as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in public accounting or a financial management role, with a strong background in tax and audit.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial position with the ability to supervise and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
